Official Dead Blog idea

I have been pondering about the consequences of the fake-kill ability as we start to have more and more dead. Thus, I'm toying around with starting up a mafia_cat sponsored dead blog for the dead to talk to one another, regardless of faction, former win condition, or otherwise, in order to communicate which player is to not be treated as if they were dead. This would also be a way to involve everyone, and to keep those still interested in watching the game involved.

It seems ironic for Squid to talk about the elitists when he is essentially complaining about himself. I think he was just feeling a little butthurt from having done what he could see as a less-than amazing job. However, I feel that people miss the point when they are playing this game. All too often it is not about doing the perfect thing all of the time. This game should reward effort, and frequently does. For the increased influence one receives by doing things, they also become an increased target.

It is with a heavy heart that I report the death of our strategist, Sapphire. She was the one who found me, out of a group of MILLIONS D:. Together we met up and started the show together, along with Sky. She was a great asset to our team, and will be missed.

On a happier note, I'm getting married!~ \o/ Madogu and I have sent in our vows, so I believe when the day phase ends, we shall have a new member joining us.... hopefully... I won't be the one dying, or else it will be the shortest. marriage. ever. >.<

Night 3 moves...

My lords! My ladies! My Shu!

Today, we have struck the first blow in a silent war against the Unaffiliated. It is indeed with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to Malice.

Now, for the night activities.

The initial plan was to hit the remaining two guardians tonight, however, a new plan has emerged, with the revelations from today's lynch. It seems there's an Unaffiliated that can perform a day hit that is working with us, so over the next two days, he will eliminate a guardian a day.

In the meantime, our LT and BG are hitting DJROC doubleteam styly. Hopefully, if he's the LT being protected by the medic, we'll kill them both in one fell swoop. We might even get lucky and nail the Lord...

Additionally, I find myself increasingly irritated with TTR. I do not believe for a second that he thinks I'm the Wu Lord like he claims to, and BBC told me he was actively seeking my death during the day, so I did the only logical thing:

I put him onto our wonderfully cracked party member Midnyt. Hopefully, if he comes callin', Mid will put him down and we'll have one less Wei in our hair.

Okay, we've successfully taken down the Wu Bodyguard (for sure, this time!). We also managed to take out one of the Guardians...albeit at the cost of one of the Unaffiliated (poor Malice...). For this night phase, we are targeting the two remaining Guardians, right?

This lovely post is a fine example that all you people are doing an awesome job! It seems TTR went a'seekin' the Wu Lord, and (thanks to Jake) damn if he didn't find him... read on for more...

Wei is falling. The bodyguard is gone and one by one we lose our members. Our faction leader will not last long, I think. I propose a coup de tat, or several in fact.

(No kidding, right?)

I wish to minimize blood shed and player loss. I want to save Wei by destroying it. This will also spite Shu who has been obnoxious and outright lied to me. I will have vengeance...

What I want to do is simple. I wish to find the Wei faction leader, be named successor, have them killed. When I ascend I will name you successor to Wei and then I can be killed, either lynch or assassination. You will then be able to move all Wei players to Wu. This way most Wei players will be saved at the cost of losing their faction. A fair trade I think. You will have overwhelming numbers and the unaffiliated not tied to Wu should flock to the stronger faction.

(Tempting... I was already planning on doing this anyway.. but probably just going to kill the Wei Lord and have done)

I am a sleeper for Wei that has awakened. We are, as THG put it, for when the shitty shitiness happens and are meant to swing the game and save our faction. Kill power is far from all I can do, as I would not be so reckless to approach you like this if I did not feel mostly secure. However, I cannot rally and I cannot lead. I follow and do. I don't plan and I cannot network. My win condition is now neigh impossible, so I thought I might strike a deal.

No one in Wei knows of this, and I would like to keep as few from knowing this as possible. Only you, if you would be so inclined. Turn all of Wu to finding Wei, turn them to killing Shu and this should be quick. I am the obvious choice for successor with my powers. Once the Head is found I shall cut it off and hand it to you.

As a favor, if Aarin is not part of your faction (tell me one way or the other) I would like him dead. I was told he was Wu, by him and others, only to be told that he is Shu. I don't know which is true but I think that latter might be. If so, kill him for me to seal this deal. I can do it myself, but I might have other targets before night 3. I was also told you were Shu, but evidence says otherwise. I hope I am right, but I felt the gamble would pay off nicely.

Since I have been ridiculously honest here, I think you should feel you are able to trust me. I would like you to turn your resources to help me finding more Wei that I can contact. Consider them future subordinates and hand them over to me first. Whether things turn around for Wei or not I will fulfill this if you agree to it. Consider it a contract; a dead Shu tonight, or in lynch backed by you today, will seal the deal for me. (Aarin, if he is Shu. Fellow Shu! Night three was probably much more exciting than you can possibly imagine. Our great faction had four hits that were supposed to happen; however, only the last one was actually completed (good job Kemi!). Now, for an explanation of what happened...

Wave Master: Not hit. The "Mercenary Cat" apparently backed down...

DJROC: I'm willing to bet this hit went through, but he was guarded by the Veteran... this fucker is dangerous. He knows I'm Shu, and probably knows I'm the Lord.

Okay, it looks like *none* of our hits went through during the last night phase. On top of that, I took a hit (which was covered, much thanks to Gunsguru). To this I say: WTF?!?!

In terms of good news, Marrow's true identity has been revealed: we lynched the Wei General, and the Wu General appears to have died during the night.

Firstly, Jake said that he was tailored by the Wu. I'm expecting to see a very different tally during the next day cycle.

Don't get me wrong. I was like "What the deuce?!" myself, but then it dawned on me that there's no reason why Marrow would have been so stubborn as to not reveal himself to us if he were Shu.

Something else fun that came from this is the following:

Anyone else find the number of people in each faction a bit odd?

Unless someone from Wei already managed to defect to our side, it seems most likely that Marrow was a Wei being masqueraded as a Shu. I suggest waiting for the night phase to end, so that we can know for sure what's up with that.

Ok, I just learned from Jake that the Wu tailor worked his magic on Marrow, meaning our check may have not been before it happened. That being said, it might be a little hasty to lynch him now...

It's Lynchin' Time!

Ok folks! First things first...

The "Shucat" was my creation. I couldn't figure out how to properly explain to the masses what I wanted without unwittingly throwing my name out there for the lynch mob, so I thought a sockpuppet would be appropo. However, now we have a bunch of boobery on the forum from the Johnny-come-lately's. -.- Buncha yahoos.

Now, on to Marrowmeld. I had Madogu check him and found that he is not Shu. I also received a clue from my promotion that Wei are on the ropes, and that perhaps we should take a fresh look at how we're playing our game (i.e. perhaps focus on taking down the two guardians.) However, this is going to take some work, being that we're on friendly terms with both Uber and Spada. Lu Bu is with us, as well as several other affiliated.

This is all speculation, but open for discussion... For now, we vote to lynch Marrowmeld. Depending on that outcome, we will tweak our battle plan.

Also, I received a message as "Shucat" from "MercenaryCat" who claims to be an unaffiliated with two expendable kills. He claims he will kill whichever target we choose as proof of his loyalty. Having proved this, he will join our faction, upon which time he will gain unlimited kill power. This would indeed be useful, however, he wants my name. I asked him to hit Wave Master. The night is a long way off however, so if someone has a better target I'm all ears.

Spreadsheet Is Up

I've made a preliminary spreadsheet in GoogleDocs using the list posted earlier and the information given in the official tallies.

It's very rough around the edges, but I'd like to encourage you all to help clean it up and to keep it up to date. There are a few columns: Name, Faction, Rank, Character Name, Status, and Notes. Please keep in mind that not everyone that has claimed a faction is telling the truth. So if you see someone listed as Shu and they have not been verified in one way or another (use Notes to mention this please), be very cautious with the information you give them. The things contained in this spreadsheet are very fluid and can/may change.

To access it, make sure you're logged into google as Shucats, and then go to Documents. It's the only one there, titled, "ShuCats Official Spreadsheet".

Day 2: It Begins...

Okay, it looks like CAB was the Wu Medic, not the Wu Bodyguard. This means that the real bodyguard is still out there, and will need to be dealt with.

Of more immediate concern, though, is the fact that the Wei have lost both their bodyguard and their successor. If we can hit or lynch their leader before a new successor is chosen, their faction will be disbanded and we will be able to pick up several new members. Ideas on how to make this happen?

On the note about the spreadsheet, go ahead and make one, but keep it as private as possible. We don't want that much info getting out of hand.

We have the bodyguard hitting Harlock and the medic covering the bodyguard. Robod-cat told us that Harlock was hitting me. Skulkraken might intercept this attack before hand, but regardless, we want to take down anybody else who has kill power.

I also asked Kemindul to make a hit on Harlock, in case Harlock has medic protection/two night lives.

Kemindul also claims he has an unaffiliated player with kill power who may make hits on his request. He has asked this player to hit Wave Master.

It is retarded if our opponents do not kill me tonight. So partly the reason we dont have the medic on me is because it is a waste, and the other reason is because if Robod-cat set us up the bomb with Harlock and gave us the Wu paranoid, we need the medic on our bodyguard.

We have our detective verifying our medic, and the widow verifying Marrowmeld.

Ok - BK was more specific.

She said that she clicked on my blogger profile and all of the blogs I have were there including the people who signed up - such as your names. But she checked my blogs last night, and there were no names, and she checked again this morning and the names were there so there are really good odds nobody has happened to check my profile just at the right time >.>

However the fact that she bothered to tell me about this rather than letting me quietly fuck up our faction lets me know she is somebody to be trusted.

I'm so sorry guys. This was such a stupid mistake.

What happened

I fucked up.

I didn't realise that if you are signed up to this blog, even though people can't access it without permission, your display name is visible.

I only found out about it because Black Kitty (who reads my personal blog) happened to be viewing my profile, found this blog, and saw all the display names and told me about it just now.

It's good odds that since all of you were added in the last twelve hours and BK often checks up on me that she is the first person to have learned this but if we see all of you die in the next few days then it is completely my fault.

I screwed up big time. I'm so sorry.

Hmm...what needs to be said here...oh yeah!

I get 3 night kills...that's it. And also, if none of us die, we need to kill 19 other people to win. (I believe)

So...My intentions are to save my hits for the dangerous targets.

- Wu Lt. (kill role)
- Wei Lt. (kill role)
- Wu bodyguard (if not truly dead)
- Wei bodyguard (kill role)

This is what I believe. Any other target seems unappealing to me.

Also, I must inform you Shu people, so that you can keep it in mind, that I have one kill already reserved for another player for Night 5. Who? I can't tell you. Why? I can't tell you that either...I sorta explained to Sky, but for now, I'm bound by my honor to keep my lips sealed till the sun rises on the 5th day.

While we are off to a good start, it can change real quick. Please do not get overconfident and cocky. I am painting a big bullseye on my ass to draw fire away from the rest of you, please don't blow it all by getting yourself killed just yet~

I won't really believe we got the Wu bodyguard until the next day phase.

Situation with CAB, Robod-cat and traitors and voting

First of all. I am not sure that CAB was the bodyguard. I expect that this will be revealed at the end of the night phase.

The reason for this is because I used my masquerade ability to have CAB _appear_ as the Wu Bodyguard...and I think he will continue to 'appear' this way until I use my ability again or die. However, there is no way for Wu to know this, which means anybody who has claimed to be their bodyguard prior to this is in hot water, and anybody who tries to claim tonight will be too frightened to.

We will know for sure tomorrow lynch phase.

Robod-cat asked me how I knew that CAB was the bodyguard. The way he posed this makes me think that HE is actually the true Wu bodyguard and not a traitor after all. He wants to know our faction leader so I think we should not give it to him. If we eliminate the enemy lords, he will join us anyway.

Did Robod-cat give us correct information about Harlock or did he sell us a bus? If Skulkraken takes a hit or Harlock comes up to be the paranoid, then we kill Robod-cat. Fast.

If I die tonight (and I should), somebody needs to stay in contact with Robod-cat - that person is Squid, who already has contact. To verify Robod-cat, ask for his role name so that our townies can do a role check on him.

I have been talking with Black Kitty and she claims that she knows the Wei traitor. This makes me believe...there is actually a Shu traitor too. And we should subsequently stop adding people to this blog even if they are verified. The more we add, the greater chance we accidentally pick up the traitor. It may already be too late.

If you are the traitor and are reading this, don't worry. Our plan is to wipe out the enemy faction leaders. Once we identify the enemy faction leader, you 'betray' to that house...just before we hit the leader and kill them. You will then be able to, along with the rest of that house, rejoin Shu.

I clarified this with Hopper-cat so you should talk to him too if you don't believe me.

Reading from the top right downwards, then going from right to left (ie reading a Chinese newspaper) gives IMNOTOFTHEHOUSEOFSHU but we already knew this.

Lastly, now that we know that voting will not give away your forum name, there is no advantage for ninja voting. The way Montague previously steamrolled the elections was to put our names down fast and in such a big number that the opposing faction lost spirit and morale didn't bother to put votes in. When our players did the same, it very nearly threw Sapphire the game...

Get your votes in as soon as you have a target.

My preference for killing players is in this order:
Definite enemy with a valuable role
Definite hostile player
Opponents who are acting suspiciously (Jake is behaving himself, Harlock is not)
A player who did not respond to my original PM yet
Opponents who are neutral (eg Wonder Chicken and DJROC)
Opponents who appear friendly.

He is the same as me but he does not want to be the Emperor either.

He is going to try to infiltrate Wei and Wu to find us the faction leaders.

He wants us to kill Wei leader so he can join our faction.

This sounds rather good to me. He's also been voting for CAB.
